Ian Milne

Ian is an experienced corporate banker having originally trained with Barclays Bank. In addition he has over 20 years of acquisition and leveraged finance experience in banking having worked with both Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland.  During this time Ian has been involved in the financing of numerous debt transactions to include MBOs and MBIs, various corporate acquisitions, private equity, and restructurings involving a wide range of industry sectors.  

Ian has been based in the South for 15 years and has been involved in banking many of the region's largest transactions including Micheldever Tyres, Park Holidays, Apollo Group, Selwood and Snell & Wilcox. 

Ian was voted Solent Dealmaker of the Year for 2008.

In recent years Ian has been the Managing Director of National Private Equity relationships for the Royal Bank of Scotland where he was the key contact with all of the leading mid-market UK private equity houses.  He has a detailed knowledge of all aspects of private equity and an understanding of their investment strategies and approach.

As a Partner at Spectrum, Ian brings to bear his expertise on assessing businesses and risk to ensure that companies are presented to mitigate potential funding issues allied to a detailed and up to date knowledge of debt markets and structures.  Over his many years in the market Ian has also developed extensive general corporate finance experience and know-how, and has a highly commercial approach.

Out of working hours, Ian is a keen golfer and all round sports fan who likes to keep fit as well as being interested in popular music.
