Simon Davies

Simon is an experienced corporate finance adviser having originally qualified with Ernst & Young where he spent one year in the Singapore office before moving into the Southampton corporate finance team.   Simon then worked with Bank of Scotland in a regional structured finance role where he became a qualified banker before joining PW where he set up their corporate finance team in the Thames Valley.  He then moved on to establishing DHD Corporate Finance in 1997 with Clive Hatchard.  DHD was sold to Tenon Group plc in 2001 and Simon joined Tenon Livingstone Guarantee plc (“TLG”) in its national corporate finance practice.

Most recently, Simon has been the Regional Head of Corporate Finance for Grant Thornton running a team of 25 people across 6 offices.

Simon has led many of the South region's significant transactions over the years, including more recently, Red Funnel Group (£205m), Point Source, Snell & Wilcox (£72m), Mettoni (£15m), HobbyCraft (£100m+) and Amtech (£35m).  Simon has also completed a significant number of disposals to large corporates both in the UK and overseas, including BTR, Siebe, Brake Bros, Travis Perkins, Hays, Qioptiq SA, Enghouse Inc and Asmodee SA.

Simon won The Thames Valley and Solent Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Out of working hours, Simon is a keen skier and boater with his family.  He enjoys travel, good food and wine, and hopes that regular 5-a-side football will keep the effects of the latter at bay!
