Iain McKenzie

Iain has had a 30 year career in technology encompassing both Corporate life and his own businesses. Originally starting out with Nortel Networks as UK Financial Director, he moved in to general management before leaving Nortel in 1994, having been AVP for the UK Enterprise business. This was the beginning of a period of establishing and subsequently exiting a number of his own technology businesses, which included, Video Terminals ( sold to VideoTex Systems inc), Personal Comms Europe ( Sold to Martin Dawes), Datapulse Group ( Sold to Mettoni Plc), Mettoni Group Ltd (MBO from Plc) sold to Enghouse Systems Inc. in 2010.

There were also a number of acquisitions throughout this period including STS (renamed as Interactive Distribution and sold to I3), Digital Techniques sold to MCK Communications inc, and Arc Solutions (incorporated in to Mettoni)

As part of the sale of Mettoni Group Ltd to Enghouse, Iain assumed the position of President EMEA and Asia, from 2010 to 2015, growing revenues from $30m to over $110m including heading up and subsequently integrating a number of cross border acquisitions.

He remains involved in the technology sector through a number of investments and is Non Executive Chairman of AroundThen Ltd the enterprise networking application company.

Iain has established significant credibility and a strong network in the Technology and related sectors over many years and holds both business qualifications (MBA from London Business School) and Finance qualifications as an FCMA, and has therefore, a unique set of skills to bring to clients as an advisor.

When not working, Iain enjoys the waterside life in Poole as well as having a keen interest in Motor Sports, Football and Golf and of course his family of 4 children and two grandchildren.

“Working with Spectrum was a pleasure. Right from the start they demonstrated their knowledge of the sector and how best to market the company for the most advantageous return for the shareholders. As with all deals there are ups and downs and throughout the process they kept things moving in the right direction, communicating with all parties and applying their knowledge and expertise through to completion”. Joel Jervis, Former Managing Director, Deverill
