Darren originally qualified with Arthur Andersen in Bristol before joining a newly formed corporate finance team in Reading in 1992. He became a partner at Andersen in 2001 with responsibility for the corporate finance team across Reading and Bristol. In 2002 the UK firm of Andersen combined with Deloitte and in 2005 Darren was asked to lead the corporate finance business in Southampton. In a move to focus more on local, mid-market deals, Darren joined RSM Tenon in 2009 covering both the Solent and Thames Valley regions.
Most recently Darren was a partner in the corporate finance team at Baker Tilly, following the acquisition of RSM Tenon in 2013.
Darren has led a wide variety of transactions across the Southern region over the years, including business sales, MBOs, MBIs, acquisitions and fund-raising projects. Many of his disposal projects have resulted in sales to international buyers. Recent deals include the MBO of Westfield Medical, the sale of Access-IS to an MBO team, the sale of Hi-Technology Group to Portchester Equity Limited, the sale of Wunelli to LexisNexis, the MBO of City Motor Holdings, the sale of Cope Allman Jaycare to Nolato AB, the sale of Chilworth Global to DEKRA SE, the sale of Testbank to Burgess Marine, the sale of Stroud School to King Edwards Southampton and the MBO of CCL Vehicle Rentals.
Darren won ‘Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year’ at the Solent Deal Awards in 2013 and was a finalist in the same category at the 2016 awards.
Over many years, Darren has distinguished himself as a highly professional adviser, exceptionally hands-on and committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients.
Out of working hours, and when not acting as a taxi driver for two teenage sons, Darren enjoys watching sport of all kinds, is an infrequent and hence poor golfer and suffers the anguish and occasional joys of being a very keen supporter of welsh rugby.
"Darren Miller's knowledge of the market and advice ensured that we were able to achieve a successful deal for all."Roger Wylie, former owner of Access-IS
